Methodology

Every number
comes with proof.

Kitscore doesn't ask you to trust a score. It shows you exactly what went into it — every component, every source, every weight. Here's how it works.

A number between 0 and 100.
Backed by verified data.

The Kitscore Trust Score is a weighted composite of four components, each scored 0–100. The final score reflects not just performance, but the quality of evidence behind each component. A live-verified data point carries more weight than a self-reported one.

Trust Scores are recalculated automatically whenever a creator updates their profile, uploads new evidence, answers the brand safety questionnaire, or has a campaign confirmed by a sponsor.

Why not just use follower counts? Follower counts measure size, not quality. A creator with 10K highly-engaged, brand-safe, UK-based followers is often more valuable to a sponsor than one with 200K followers of uncertain authenticity. Kitscore measures what actually matters to sponsorship outcomes.

Four components.
Each independently verified.

Every creator's Trust Score is built from four components. Each is scored 0–100 and carries a weight that reflects its impact on sponsorship outcomes based on what sponsors consistently tell us matters most.

Audience Authenticity
LiveEvidence
Measures the quality and genuineness of a creator's audience. Looks at follower growth patterns, engagement-to-follower ratios, geographic consistency, and signs of inauthentic activity such as bot-pattern behaviour or sudden unexplained spikes.

Engagement Quality
LiveEvidence
Measures how actively an audience responds to content — likes, comments, saves, shares — relative to follower count. Benchmarked against category averages for a defined set of niches (finance, tech, sustainability, health, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, fitness) so a fitness creator's 4% rate is contextualised against the fitness benchmark, not a general average. Niches outside this set are scored against the general average.

Brand Safety
Self-reportedEvidence
An 8-point assessment of content and compliance risk, answered by the creator. Each question carries a calibrated penalty when answered unfavourably — full breakdown in the Brand safety section below.

Content Consistency
LiveEvidence
Posting regularity over a trailing 8-week window — how many of the last 8 weeks had at least one upload, verified directly from YouTube, Instagram, or Twitch (Twitch measures saved VODs, not live-stream frequency directly — a streamer who deletes VODs after airing won't show full credit here). TikTok support is planned, pending a developer-portal scope approval. No platform connected yet defaults to a self-reported starting score from uploaded evidence.

The score tells you what.
Confidence tells you how sure.

Every Trust Score ships with a Confidence Rating — a percentage that reflects how much of the score is backed by verified data versus self-reported information. A score of 80 with 90% confidence is meaningfully different from a score of 80 with 40% confidence.

Confidence increases as creators upload evidence, get verified by Kitscore, and have campaigns mutually confirmed by sponsors. It decreases if evidence is missing, outdated, or self-reported only.

Low confidence
0 – 49%
Mostly self-reported data. Profile is incomplete or evidence is missing. Score should be treated as indicative only.
Medium confidence
50 – 79%
Mix of verified and self-reported data. Some evidence submitted. Score is reasonably reliable but room for verification remains.
High confidence
80 – 100%
Majority of components live-verified or evidence-backed. At least one confirmed campaign. Score can be relied upon for sponsorship decisions.

Three tiers of data.
Not all evidence is equal.

Kitscore weights data differently depending on how it was verified. Live-verified data carries the most weight. Self-reported data carries the least — but still contributes, because any information is better than none.

LV
Live verified
Data pulled directly from platform APIs or verified in real time by Kitscore. Not dependent on creator submissions. Highest confidence contribution.
Highest weight
ES
Evidence submitted
Screenshots, analytics exports, campaign briefs, or other documentation uploaded by the creator and reviewed by Kitscore. Medium confidence contribution.
Medium weight
MC
Mutually confirmed
Campaigns confirmed by both creator and sponsor independently. Neither party can confirm alone — both must agree the campaign happened and rate the outcome.
High weight
SR
Self-reported
Information supplied by the creator through their profile or questionnaire, without independent verification. Lowest confidence contribution, but still scored.
Lowest weight

Eight checks.
Every creator, every time.

Brand safety is scored via a structured 8-question assessment. Each question is answered by the creator and can be supplemented with content review evidence. Unfavourable answers apply calibrated score penalties — the severity reflects real sponsor concern levels.

01
Adult content
Presence of explicit or sexually suggestive content in the creator's primary content channels.
02
Gambling promotion
History of promoting gambling, betting, or gaming products without appropriate disclosure.
03
Political content
Frequency of political commentary or advocacy that could polarise a brand's customer base.
04
Profanity
Regular use of strong language that may conflict with brand tone or family-safe requirements.
05
Family safety
Whether the creator's content is appropriate for a broad, family-inclusive audience.
06
Paid disclosure (FTC)
Consistency of disclosing paid partnerships. Failure to disclose is a legal and reputational risk for sponsors.
07
Misinformation history
History of sharing content later identified as false or misleading by authoritative fact-checkers.
08
Controversy history
Past viral controversy events — major or minor — that generated significant negative public attention.

Earned, not bought.
Visible on every profile.

Trust Badges are awarded based on the number of mutually confirmed campaigns a creator has completed. They cannot be purchased or gamed — they require a real sponsor to independently confirm a real campaign happened. Badges appear on creator profiles, trust links, Verified Media Kits, and sponsor decision memos.

Not just who they are.
How they deliver.

The Reliability Score is Kitscore's primary differentiator. While the Trust Score measures a creator's audience and content quality, the Reliability Score measures their track record as a sponsorship partner — based entirely on verified, mutually-confirmed campaign data.

No other platform has this. It cannot be gamed, purchased, or self-reported. It is computed exclusively from campaigns that both the creator and sponsor have independently confirmed.

Formula: Campaign completion rate (30 pts, always counted) + Average sponsor ratings across communication, professionalism, and deliverable quality (25 pts) + Endorsement score from past sponsors (20 pts) + Repeat sponsor rate (15 pts) + Would Hire Again % (10 pts). Each of the last four is only counted once a creator has that kind of data — a brand-new creator with zero campaigns yet is scored on completion rate alone; the score is rescaled to 0–100 based on however many factors actually apply, so a creator with only one or two data points isn't penalized for the ones they don't have yet. Capped at 100. Recomputed automatically on every new confirmed campaign or endorsement.

Needs Improvement
0 – 49
Few confirmed campaigns, low sponsor ratings, or poor would-hire-again rate. Proceed with caution and request additional references.
Established
50 – 79
Solid track record with consistent sponsor ratings. Some repeat sponsors. Reliable for standard campaigns.
Excellent
80 – 100
Exceptional sponsor satisfaction, high repeat rate, and top-tier endorsement ratings. Highest confidence for premium sponsorship commitments.
